Before the page is shown to the surfer it is processed using our script, so the specified terms can be explained. The script takes terms and their descriptions from MySQL database and then explains terms in the web page. When all terms are described, the resulting HTML output is shown to the user in the form of very pretty HTML page.You can set this script to ignore some terms on some files, it is very simple!

This script is very FAST because there is no parsing of HTML file using PHP script (the Regular Expressions are used). One more characteristic of this script is that it will not try to describe terms in any HTML tag (e.g. LINK) so there is no chance that your links getting messed up.

Along with Describer you will get administration area specified for managing of terms and their descriptions.

Please note that Describer is semi case-sensitive. What does this mean? This means that during describing, Describer will not describe any case terms because the Regular Expression parsing method used in this script is case insensitive. But we have made this script this semi case-sensitive, so when you enter term in database, the described terms will be:

1. lowercased - term

2. Capitalized - Term

3. Uppercased - TERM

With this script you will get OverLib script by Erik Bosrup, which is freeware, so you can make your descriptions more appealing. But usage of OverLib library is not required, you can always use <acronym> tag to describe certain term.

This script supports advanced formatting of descriptions, so you can also use CSS to describe terms in your page by changing "template" variable of the Describer class.

System requirements for Describer:

- Unix/Linux or Windows hosting

- PHP 4.3+

- MySQL 3.2+

This script is using MySQL database, which is good and fast. If your site needs to handle a large number of data this is the best option for you.
